Green Narrative Fellowship by Taqalum - A Flagship Initiative.

Green Narrative Fellowship

The Green Narrative Fellowship is Taqalum’s flagship climate storytelling initiative designed to build a new generation of youth climate communicators in Pakistan. It transforms storytelling from a form of expression into a structured pathway for climate action, equipping young people with the skills to shape narratives, influence public discourse, and create measurable impact in their communities.

Each year, a selected cohort of fellows engages in an immersive journey of learning, creation, and action, producing high-impact storytelling outputs that amplify local climate realities and youth voices.

Our Model: Learn · Create · Act

The fellowship is built on a structured progression model:

  • Learn – Develop climate literacy, storytelling foundations, and communication skills
  • Create – Produce narratives through writing, visual storytelling, and research
  • Act – Translate stories into campaigns, public engagement, and community impact

This model ensures that storytelling becomes a tool for real-world climate action.

What Fellows Do

Selected fellows participate in a structured, collaborative experience where they:

  • Explore climate challenges through local and global perspectives
  • Develop storytelling skills across written, visual, and digital formats
  • Work in teams to create high-impact narrative outputs
  • Engage in real-world communication and outreach initiatives
  • Receive mentorship from practitioners in storytelling, climate, and media
Flagship Outputs

Each fellowship cohort produces tangible, high-impact outputs, including:

  • A curated climate storytelling anthology
  • A documentary capturing lived climate realities and perspectives
  • A youth-led social campaign focused on awareness and engagement

These outputs are designed to extend beyond the fellowship into public dialogue, education, and advocacy spaces.

Why It Matters

Pakistan’s climate challenges are not only environmental but also narrative gaps.

Local stories, lived experiences, and youth perspectives remain underrepresented in mainstream climate discourse. The Green Narrative Fellowship addresses this gap by building a structured ecosystem of youth climate communicators who can inform, engage, and influence public understanding and action.
